I am a certified teacher with over a decade of classroom and 1:1 as well as small group tutoring experience, both in-person and online. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in English and Speech Communication. I tutor all grade levels from 3rd to 12th, specializing in English Language Arts.

Tutoring Style:

I am passionate about teaching, as well as about my subject matter. I am an excellent communicator and am focused on getting to know my students, both personally and academically, so I can adapt my material and teaching style to their needs. I am patient and thorough in my lessons, ensuring that the student clearly understands the goals of the lessons and can demonstrate proficiency before moving on.

Success Story:

My students greatly enjoy learning from me and often request my services when signing up for new lessons. I am particularly proud of one student who was applying to several colleges and needed help with the construction of her essay for her college application. Her initial attempts were thoughtful but poorly organized and failed to demonstrate a thorough command of the rules of English grammar and sentence structure. After spending several weeks with me, she was able to produce an excellent essay which earned her admission into the college of her choice, where she is now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science.

Hobbies & Interests:

I am an lifelong avid reader, often reading several books at once, and I also enjoy listening to music and playing my guitar in my spare time.
