I have a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (minor in Equine Science) from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University. My passion for working in education grew during my master's program where I mentored a total of four pre-veterinary students as they progressed through independent projects, undergraduate coursework, and veterinary school applications (All four students were accepted to veterinary schools!). I have five years of experience tutoring test prep and academics in an online environment.
I have extensive experience working with students diagnosed with a learning difference. By using a mentorship approach, I am able to guide students through positive encouragement and goal-setting; ultimately leading students to achieve their academic, test prep, or personal goals. I strive to engage students by using real-world examples and to create a safe space for students to confidently try out new strategies and skills.
I’ve had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds. For example, I supported a student whose native language was not English, helping him improve his reading comprehension and manage his exam anxiety. By the end of our program, he raised his SAT score from 1000 to the upper 1400s!
I’ve also guided high-achieving students pursuing competitive goals, such as the National Merit Scholarship. One of my students became a finalist after completing our program!
Additionally, I’ve worked with adult learners and college students preparing for medical school entrance exams like the MCAT. Through rigorous personalized tutoring plans multiple students improved their scores by 10–15 points, with one student achieving an impressive 520.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing video games, reading comic books, hiking, photographing wildlife (especially reptiles, amphibians, or birds), and learning new skills!
