I tutor students in grades 6-12 and college. As a dedicated former teacher and software engineer, I bring over 13 years of experience tutoring students in Math, Probability and Statistics. Being a mother and grandmother has brought deeper understanding, patience and joy to my tutoring work.

Tutoring Style:

When I meet with a student, I start out by talking with them to identify what they do understand, and where they are struggling. With the goal of filling the gaps in their learning and increasing their confidence, I tailor my methods to fit their learning speed and style. It's important to me to nurture a stress-free learning environment so my students are comfortable enough to think through the material and ask for clarity along the way.

Success Story:

One of our neighbors was my student for two years in high school. He was taking Geometry for the second time when he came for help. I identified his need for clear instructions, repetition and organization. Throughout the tutoring sessions I was pleased to see his understanding grow and his enthusiasm increase as he approached each problem. His parents were also pleased and had me tutor him through his Algebra 2 class the next year. What a joy to see him graduate and go on to college.

Hobbies & Interests:

I love getting outside with my dog for hikes, or my husband for bike rides. I enjoy study groups at our church and game nights with friends and family. Spending time with my grandkids is the best!
