I’ve been doing math my entire life. I’ve been helping students in grades 6-College learn math since 2014. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Central Florida. What makes me unique as a tutor is that while learning is always the main objective, I’m still fun and engaging.
I tutor in a way that allows students to learn by answering questions that I ask. Each step must be understood before we move on to the next one. Usually, clients will say that I’m very thorough. My goal is to have my students not needing to ask any questions, because we already answered all of them. When I meet a new student, I can quickly assess their skill level and fill in the educational gaps that they need to succeed. I want my students to understand mathematics just as much as I do.
I had a student who struggled with mathematics taking Calculus 1. He needed to pass this class to pursue a career as a computer programmer. We met up at his home at least 4 days a week and practiced many math problems together. We did this for the entire semester. Ultimately, he passed with a B, and was able to continue pursuing his career.
When I’m not doing math, I’m maybe at the gym, sleeping, or listening to music. I like hip-hop and R&B. However, I may listen to pop or techno once in a while.
