In my experience, I have done 2 years of in-person tutoring with small groups and one-on-one in various public schools and 5 years of online tutoring where I engaged with students one-on-one and small groups virtually when it comes to math (K to 12) and computer science (elementary to college level). I have a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College in computer science with a minor in multimedia computing and physics and I tutor grades from elementary to college.
I would start by introducing myself and welcoming the student to the tutoring session. I would hear what the student needs help with and after hearing his or her needs, we would proceed to go through the different topics that need to be covered.
In the past, I had a student not understand how to complete a coding assignment. I would break down what information is provided and what the assignment is asking. We would go over basic concepts of coding that relate to the assignment. Then, we would plan out the steps needed to complete the assignment. By guiding the student, she was able to see what to needed to complete the task at hand by breaking it down step by step.
I enjoy anime, playing/ making video games, playing piano, board games, and jogging.
