About Me

I am a certified teacher with more than a decade of experience in primary classrooms teaching the foundations of reading and math. I have experience in teaching special education. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of West Florida and a master's degree from Grand Canyon University. I tutor grades K-5.

Tutoring Style

I am a patient teacher, recognizing that children learn at different paces and may need extra time to grasp concepts. I use creative teaching methods and materials to make learning fun and engaging. I have a strong understanding of elementary-level subjects and the curriculum. I always use positive reinforcement to build confidence and motivate students.

Success Story

One of my students was struggling with reading and read below grade level. She found it difficult to recognize words, which affected her confidence and made her reluctant to read aloud in class. Her parents and teacher were concerned about her progress and sought my help to address these challenges. Through a multi-faceted approach (explicit instruction, games, positive reinforcement, sight word practice, and reading together) my student's reading skills started progressing and so did her confidence. She now read aloud in class proudly and often chose to read in her free time. By the end of the school year, she was reading on grade level!

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not tutoring I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and traveling. Other than my kids, my yard is my pride and joy and I love spending time gardening and maintaining my plants!
