I am an enthusiastic educator who displays my love of learning to inspire students and help them realize that learning can be fun! I have a master's degree from Bridgewater State University and I tutor grades 1-6.
Students have different learning styles. One of the best parts of tutoring is getting to know a student so I can adapt my instruction to meet their needs, challenge their strengths, and connect to their interests. Before answering a question, I encourage students to problem solve so they understand what is being asked and devise a plan to solve it, including selecting an appropriate strategy. This gives students a sense of power to approach new tasks.
Some of my most treasured possessions are handwritten letters from former students who thank me for inspiring them. One letter stated that, “You inspired me to work harder, never give up, and be kind. You being funny all the time taught me that learning can be fun. Therefore, I started to work longer and harder. Overall, you inspired me to become a better student and person.”
I enjoy cooking, going to the beach, and taking my dog, Eddy, on walks.
