I am an accomplished Math tutor with over 15 years of experience instructing Math. I have a bachelor's degree in Statistics from Hunter College and I tutor grades K-9.
In my math tutoring style, I prioritize identifying each student's strengths and weaknesses to tailor the instruction effectively. By assessing these areas, I can address gaps and build on their existing knowledge in a structured and relatable way. I focus on ensuring that students grasp the current material while also understanding any prerequisite concepts that may be necessary for mastery. Ultimately, I strive to create a supportive learning environment where each student can achieve their potential in Math.
My favorite success story is when I worked as a Center Director at Mathnasium. We had a student who initially hated Math and was a year behind grade level. Upon learning more about this student's particular learning style and filling in the gaps from prior years she began to not only do well in Math, but most importantly she developed a love for Math. After working with this student for 2 years she graduated from High School with honors in Math. She decided to pursue a Mathematics degree in college, having developed an appreciation and passion for a subject she once avoided!
My hobbies are hiking, sports, and playing video games. I enjoy working out and keeping a healthy lifestyle.
