I am a certified teacher with 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring math and science. I have a bachelor's degree in physics from Marquette University and I tutor grades 5-College.
I would consider myself to be a strict, no-nonsense type of tutor, that also likes to have fun and crack jokes, assuming that we are handling business the way we need to handle business academically. I like to stick to the fundamentals and make sure students understand exactly what they are doing. I am here to support students and provide them with the skills to be as successful as possible.
Recently, I helped a college level pre-med physics student achieve an A in physics 2, despite not being in the physics classroom in over 4 years prior to this class. We first reviewed the fundamentals of algebra, the metric system and unit conversion. Then we worked on reviewing physics 1 topics while we studied the course material. It was very satisfying helping him achieve his objectives.
In my free time I like to hang out with my family, lift weights and listen to music. I was very much into playing sports as a youngster. I also played in a rock band as a guitarist for 10 years.
