About Me

I am a certified teacher with almost a decade of experience in classrooms all over the world from Taipei to Hawai'i. I have taught English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Speech & Debate, and College Application Writing. I also have passed 16 AP exams in all subjects! I earned my bachelor's degree from Duke University and I am excited to work with you.

Tutoring Style

I am a patient teacher and experienced problem solver. My teaching style is student-centered. I modify lessons based on students' interests and needs. The skills my students learn are transferable to all subjects and experiences inside and outside of the classroom.

Success Story

One of my students struggled with peer pressure when applying to college. They did not believe their application would be as impressive as their peers and wanted to give up on applying to college entirely. I spoke with the student about how we all go through unique experiences and they are all important no matter how "big" or "small" because our experiences make us who we are today. After our conversation, the student saw value in their story and decided to submit their college application with a beautifully written and passionate personal statement. The student ended up being the first in their family to attend college and got accepted to the top university in her state!
