About Me

I am a certified teacher with more than two decades of teaching/tutoring experience in mathematics. I have 5 years of tutoring online using various platforms such as zoom. I use a surface pro 9 so I can write directly onto a whiteboard to demonstrate mathematical content. I graduated with honors and a bachelor's degree in mathematics. I tutor 5th grade through High School/GED.

Tutoring Style

I develop an understanding of a student's math capabilities so that I can connect new content at the student's level. Patience is the key to my approach and I relish the opportunity to discuss math at all levels with students.

Success Story

I worked with a special needs student who was struggling to pass a required Algebra I class. We worked together for over 4 months to help him pass the class so he could graduate high school with his cohort and classmates. What a joy to have been a part of that!

Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy playing card games like cribbage, hearts, spades and euchre. I enjoy classic rock and roll, jazz and blues. I really enjoy cold weather and snow, which is why I live on top of the world in Barrow, Alaska.
