I have more than 10 years of experience tutoring math in after school programs, college level recitation classes, and private tutoring sessions. I have a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and I tutor grades 2-College.
I am confident and passionate about the topics I teach which inspired my career as an engineer. I adapt my teaching style to the needs of my student, going back to the beginning of a problem or thinking out-loud together. I am a dedicated teacher and person who genuinely cares about my students success beyond just passing a class, ensuring the fundamentals behind a topic are understood.
One of my favorite success stories is a time when I was working as an Academic Excellence Workshop Facilitator and I helped an university student pass with a high grade in her Statics class. She came to me in the beginning of the semester severely stressed about failing her first exam. She spent 3 times a week or 7 hours a week for the rest of semester and she went from failing her first exam with a F to receiving a B in her final exam and ending the course with a B-. She went on to graduate in Engineering and is currently working as a Bridge Inspector.
I love to spend my weekends hiking, biking , and exercising. I enjoy remaining active and exploring new places in my state. In the winter I enjoy snowboarding and improving on my skill ever season. I love to travel and explore new states and countries with my friends and family. I occasionally take dance classes for fun in salsa and bachata. Lastly, I am a member of ASCE and plan socials and outreach events in high schools.
