Trisha

I am a certified teacher with more than 40 years of experience teaching remedial reading and math. I have a master’s degree from Indiana University and I tutor grades K-8.

My Tutoring Style:

I am an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys encouraging students to learn. I am usually very good at diagnosing a student’s weakness in a situation and adapting my strategies to help that student meet with success. I also believe in reviewing and reinforcing skills until mastery is met.

Success Story:

One of my favorite success stories is about a beginner K student who could only identify 5 letters and sounds. I tutored her a year and a half twice a week and she is now reading on grade level! Unfortunately, she no longer needs my assistance.

Hobbies & Interests:

My hobbies are mainly sports, travel, and some crafts. I have traveled to 46 of the 50 states, one of these days I will get to Idaho, Oregon, North Dakota, and Vermont. I love going to sporting events, especially basketball. I also enjoy reading and watching a good movie.
