I am a certified teacher with over 12 years in education. I have extensive experience in reading and math enrichment and interventions for K-6 students. I have a master’s degree from Kansas State University and tutor grades 1-6.

Tutoring Style

I am a passionate teacher who wants my students to love the learning process. I focus on students developing a growth mindset and celebrate growing from mistakes. I adapt my lessons to each student based on their interests, skill level, and learning style.

Success Story

‍
One of my favorite success stories is a student struggling to understand 5th-grade math concepts. She was having difficulty memorizing algorithms and did not understand why an algorithm worked. We started with building a conceptual understanding and she was quickly able to solve high-level problems using her methods because she understood why they were working. She gained confidence in her abilities and was able to find success in her math class.

Hobbies & Interests

In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports and completing DIY projects. I also love to spend time gardening, walking my dogs, and watching my many fish tanks!
