About Me

I am a tutor with 8 years of experience in one-on-one, small group, and online tutoring, specializing in Math and Music Theory for students of all ages. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Grove City College and have a record of successfully guiding students from K-College through personalized, effective teaching strategies.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is collaborative and student-centered, focusing on guiding students through problems by first understanding their approach and then breaking down the problem step by step. I ask probing questions to push their limits, highlighting thinking, problem-solving, and exploration of different solution methods. By coaching them through similar examples with solutions, I help students develop resilience, confidence, and a genuine interest in the subject, changing learning into an engaging experience.

Success Story

One of my most rewarding tutoring experiences involved a student who had recently moved from the Philippines to the U.S. and was struggling with basic math concepts, such as fractions. Recognizing this unique set of challenges, I developed a fast-paced lesson plan that built his understanding from the ground up, using real-life examples to make the material relatable. Over six months of consistent effort, he not only caught up but excelled, ultimately doing well in his GED. This success reinforced the benefit of personalized education and the transformative impact it can have on a student's life.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of work, I am passionate about music and sports. I’ve played the piano for 16 years and the violin for 17 years, with a particular love for improvisational piano and serving in worship bands. My background in music theory and having perfect pitch add to my enjoyment of playing. In sports, I’ve spent 11 years each playing Soccer, Swim, and Ping Pong, 8 years playing Badminton, and 6 years playing Tennis. Currently, I am focused on Pickleball, a rising sport that has captured my interest. I attend tournaments to eventually join the Pro Pickleball Association (PPA) and pursue a professional career in the sport.
