Math teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. I have taught everything from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. I have taught everywhere from public school, charter school, small school, online, alternative school, and a residential treatment program.

Tutoring Style

I believe all students can learn math and achieve success. But, sometimes it takes a little more time and effort for some than others. I am here to help students to find that success. Over my many years of teaching, I have discovered many strategies that can help students understand math concepts. I am very good at helping students find that point their understanding breaks down and filling in any gaps they have that interfere with their understanding.

Success Story

During one of my teaching positions, I had the pleasure of teaching a young lady for two years. I saw all the potential in her, but she always struggled in class. She would regularly proclaim I can't do math, I'm a girl, I'm stupid. I spent a lot of time helping her and working through her misbehavior in class. Other teachers actually told me I was wasting my time. But in time I got her invested in learning and she started attending after-school tutoring. I will never forget that first time that she started exclaiming I'm smart when she figured out a concept. She went from the literal bottom academically in her first year with me to battling with another student for the top grade in her second year with me.
