I am a certified teacher with over a decade of experience teaching middle and high school math. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Mathematics Education from the University of Maryland and a Master of Education in Classroom Climate and Management from LaSalle University. I tutor math from grades five through Algebra.
I enjoy approaching math with a sense of humor, and presenting students with new strategies and techniques to approach problems. I work to meet the student where they are and keep their best interest in mind. I work with students to target areas of focus, and then develop lessons to serve that need.
I worked with a homeschooled student who was struggling with Algebra 1. After a few months, the parent and I identified that the curriculum just wasn't working for the student. I restructured a new curriculum in order to meet the student's specific learning needs, and he went on to complete the course with a much stronger understanding of the material.
I have done aerial dance for nearly fifteen years, and have coached and performed semi-professionally with a number of programs. I got into aerial dance after coaching gymnastics for a number of years, and gymnastics will always hold a special place in my heart! I enjoy the outdoors, from the beach to the mountains!
