About Me

I am a certified teacher, having taught English Language Arts to students in grades 6-12, and tutored students at many levels. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Education. I currently work as a professional proofreader and editor.

Tutoring Style

I am a structured tutor, who does well with a plan, but can also think on my feet and adapt to change with ease. Students appreciate my calm demeanor and agreeable personality. Students can rely on my steadfast nature when presented with a difficult concept. There isn’t anything we can’t solve together.

Success Story

One of my students clearly had a tough home life and it carried over in her attitude about school. After attempting to turn me off with some negative behavior, she realized that I wasn’t going to give up on her. She began to look forward to attending our sessions and allowed me to see the abilities she hid from most. She revealed to me how much she actually enjoyed learning, and her grades began to reflect her true efforts.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, shopping, and viewing movies at the cinema. I’m a Marvel fan, but I also enjoy a good action movie or a “chick flick.” My family and I spend a lot of time together improving our home and playing with our pup, Otis.
