I am a certified teacher with more than 35 years of experience teaching math. I have a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, and I tutor grades 6-9.

My tutoring style:

I recently retired from the Math classroom and I miss, well, everything. I allow students to show me what level they’re at and I try to meet them there and begin building. I want to build their knowledge, as well as confidence.

Success story:

I have to say one of my favorite success stories was tutoring a friend (she was older than me, so that was a little intimidating)who was taking a College Algebra class and was just lost. After many confidence raising sessions, she went on to make an A in her class!

Hobbies and interests:

I really enjoy hiking, hanging out with my crazy grandsons and keeping up with my favorite baseball team, The Astros! I love sports, in general, and I love weaving it into a lesson!
