I am a Texas certified teacher. I have 4 years of tutoring experience and 2 years of teaching high school math. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I hold a bachelor's degree in math from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley.
I am a very easygoing tutor/teacher. I like to make my sessions fun with humor and I try to make my students comfortable by leveling with them. I try to explain the concepts by providing detailed examples and reasons why they work the way they do.
I once had this foreign student from Poland. He was struggling with College Algebra. I saw him show up pretty much every single day and I knew I had to match his hard work to help him succeed. Towards the end of the semester and after a lot of practice, I was basically just supervising and he just needed a little push now and then. I saw him a couple of years later and he had successfully completed his bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
I enjoy exercising with weights and walking outside a lot. I own a motorcycle and have a blast when I get to ride it. My latest hobby has been trying to learn how to dance :).
