About Me

I am a certified special education and Spanish teacher with over 23 years of experience in the education field. I am a native Spanish speaker and tutor grades K-College and adults. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and a Master's degree from Webster University.

Tutoring Style

I believe that, given the right tools and support, every student of any age has the potential to reach their learning goals. Much of my career has focused on supporting students who have different learning styles and have a variety of educational needs. When tutoring students, I take the time to meet the students at their academic level and identify their areas of need. I also take time to provide the students with learning strategies and resources to help them on the path to becoming independent learners.

Success Story

One of my success stories involves a high school junior student who was having difficulty with the transition from Spanish 2 to Spanish 3 where a significant amount of writing is required. The student had very good reading comprehension but struggled to create well-developed essays. We worked one day a week throughout the school year and by the end, the student was writing well-developed essays that were well-structured and included high-level vocabulary.

Hobbies & Interests

Reading, traveling, knitting, attending a variety of performing arts events, going to museums, and watching soccer games. I also enjoy learning about different cultures.
