I am a mathematics graduate student, with several years of experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree from Spring Hill College, and I tutor grades 5-college.
I am a true believer that no person learns in one way. I try to teach by using several different learning techniques (hands on, audio, interests, visual), so the student can learn the best for them. I also try to highlight each of the steps we go over, create similar problems so we do not just work on the homework, and do an overall review towards the end, all for them to be successful.
Over the years I have seen many students with different levels of need. One of my most impactful was a student in an algebra class that was failing because he was behind on addition and subtraction. We worked together every day for the entire semester, and he was able to go from learning arithmetic to passing his Algebra I course.
My hobbies and interests include spending time outdoors, reading and spending time with my three cats (Edgar, Oliver, and Aurora)
