I am an online tutor with over a decade of experience. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. I tutor middle school and up in math, English, sociology, philosophy, and psychology.
My teaching philosophy is centered on empathy, patience, and adaptability. I believe in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages questions and fosters a growth mindset. My tutoring style is interactive and student-centered, focusing on building critical thinking skills and promoting self-learning, which empowers students to become confident and independent learners.
My favorite success story involves a student that initially disliked math. At first, he struggled with the subject, but after several tutoring sessions, I realized that his difficulty wasn't with the math itself—it was with understanding what the questions were asking. Once we focused on improving his comprehension, he quickly became a model student!
Outside of academia, my interests include reading, playing games of all kinds, and watching classic movies. These activities not only provide a balance to my professional life but also enrich my teaching by bringing real-world experiences into the learning environment, making lessons more relatable and engaging for students.
