About Me

I am an online tutor with more than a decade of experience. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. I tutor grades 4 and up in math, English, sociology, and psychology.

Tutoring Style

I am an empathetic tutor with a passion for teaching and learning. I'm not perfect so I don't expect my students to be perfect. I believe strongly in positive reinforcement and the power of making mistakes. Persistence is the key to success. My students always feel comfortable to abort, retry, fail, and repeat.

Success Story

My favorite story is when I helped a student who disliked math join the math fan club. Originally the student was struggling with math, but, after several sessions, I realized that the student wasn't really struggling with the math, he was struggling to understand what the questions were asking. Once we worked on that, he became a model student!
