I am currently pursuing my PhD in Applied Statistics from FSU and have Masters degree in both Mathematics and Statistics from accredited US universities. I have been teaching as an solo instructor in those universities for undergrad level mathematics and statistics for last 7 years. Tutoring and helping students is my passion and I have been doing so for last 10 years.
I am an enthusiastic yet easygoing teacher, passionate about the topics I teach. I tend to adapt my teaching style based on the specific needs of the particular student, e.g. going slow, repeating myself, writing down most of the stuff, or jumping ahead to meet their level. I enforce the topics we learn together by reviewing them until the student passes with flying colors.
One of my favorite success stories is when I helped a student not only to pass but get an A in a College Algebra class. She was a single mother who came back to school after a gap of 5-6 years and was working two jobs to support herself and her kid. Halfway through the semester I noticed that she was missing classes so I reached out to her. She was feeling uncomfortable in the class full of kids and have forgotten most of the high school math. As an instructor, I identified the problem and met and tutored her outside my scheduled time 3 times a week for the rest of the semester (pro-bono). Not only did she ace the course but later I continued helping her with other upper level math courses, and she is now in grad school for her MS in Mechanical Engineering.
I enjoy coding, solving different real life math/stat problems, painting, reading books and cooking for my friends and family.
