About Me

I am a math and science teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching all levels of math and physical sciences. I have a Master's degree in Mathematics from UC Santa Cruz and I tutor from grades3 through the end of high school.

Tutoring Style

I am a relaxed tutor who focuses on building up current knowledge to connect to new content. I always have a new way to explain a topic to bring understanding and confidence. I meet students where they are at and help them push forward through material. We will review and repeat until the student is capable and comfortable.

Success Story

One student taking PreCalculus was struggling and failing. We worked together and I was able to identify several concepts from earlier math courses she was struggling with. We added extra tutoring sessions weekly to focus on these topics. By working on those concepts and continuing in her PreCalculus work she was able to do so well in her class that she qualified for APCalculus the next year. She took the AP class and continued to tutor with me twice weekly. At the end of that year she had received both an A in her class and a 4 on the AP exam.

Hobbies & Interests

I am an avid kayaker and hiker. I love the water and like to spend my summers on the lake. I also love to draw and do mixed media art. I spend time every day working on my skills and pursuing different ideas in mixed media.
