I'm Dr. Ed Miller from New York City, where I have taught elementary school for the past 19 years. I have taught subjects such as ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and many others. I tutor almost all subjects from elementary to high school and beyond, including test prep. My doctoral degree is from Columbia University and is in Curriculum and Teaching, which helps me understand many different kinds of educational programs and learners.
I am an experienced teacher and tutor who prides himself on having strong learning systems and a friendly and welcoming personality. I love to build bridges with students by finding common interests and experiences.
I met Michael when he was 8 years old and began tutoring him because he was behind in reading and at risk of repeating the 3rd grade. He improved enough to move on to 4th grade, and 5th grade, and before you knew it, he was graduating high school and into college. I am beyond proud of him not only for his academic gains but for his ability to gain confidence and believe in himself.
I live with my wife and two children (ages 8 and 5). I love to run in the park, eat pizza, burgers, and chicken parm, and read non-fiction books. My teams are the Mets (MLB), Giants (NFL), and Rangers (NHL) but will still be nice to fans of other teams.
