I am a certified Spanish teacher with experience in all grade levels. I am also a native speaker; I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I am very passionate about my culture and other Hispanic cultures, and incorporating them into my lessons. I earned my B.A in Spanish and a teaching certificate in P-12 at Montclair State University in 2014. In May 2019, I completed a Masters in Modern Languages and Urban Education.
I love incorporating interactive activities in my lessons, and making sure I have a variety of activities to meet my students needs. I love teaching and sharing my passion for languages and cultures with others. As a child, I always admired my grandmother who was a grammar educator in the Dominican Republic. I believe in learning that never ends, and incorporating fun teaching strategies that promote the communication in the target language.
One of my favorite success story is being able to see the growth of one of my students that started taking lessons with with me, when she was in 3rd grade. Now she is in Middle school and it is so rewarding to see how much she has learned and is excited about the language.
When I am not teaching, I love to dance, I dance all the Latin dances, salsa, bachata, merengue, tango but lately I have been learning how to swing dance and two step. I also like to exercise and stay active as much as possible.
