About Me

I've been helping and mentoring students learn math for the last 15 years in person and online! I love working with students 1-on-1 because it allows me to know them as mathematical thinkers and help them reach their full potential! I have a B.S. in pure Mathematics, an M.S., and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Michigan Technological University. I love Mathematics and I deeply believe in high-quality teaching and education.

Tutoring Style

I always adapt and adjust my teaching style to the needs of my students. The only way to learn mathematics is by doing and re-doing examples. So, working with me includes solving many problems. I start with simple examples and then make my way through the harder problems. I make sure my students know the fact that they can feel comfortable asking me any questions they might have.

Success Story

I can think of many success stories helping students get over math anxiety. I tutored a student struggling with math for three consecutive years (grades 7 through 9). Later during the upcoming years (grades 10 and above, and even in college), he no longer needed any help since he learned how to learn math on his own. Surprisingly, he kept scoring the highest grades in math compared to any other topics. He is a grown-up now with a B.S. in IT and always tells me that he is in the place he is today only because of my patience and my unique teaching style!

Hobbies & Interests

I love swimming with family, cross-country skiing, binge-watching Netflix TV series and cooking and baking with my daughter. I also love watching the news and listening to the audible books while taking a walk.
