I am a freelance A.I. evaluator and a four-year experienced university math instructor. I have taught trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math and earned my master's degree at the University of Utah. I tutor high schoolers, undergraduates, and adult learners.
I love creating examples and exercises for repeated practice to reinforce difficult concepts. Working through these problems with my students, I help them find their sticking points and overcome them. I emphasize resourcefulness by encouraging the use of notes and textbooks to find the tools they need. I hope my students will become capable, confident, and independent learners.
I had a trigonometry student come to office hours a few weeks into the semester knowing she could do better than a C and asking for help. Over the following weeks, we worked out example problems to practice key concepts, and I encouraged her to use her neglected textbook as a personal help and source of more examples. Soon she was more confident and independent, and she earned an A- final grade!
I enjoy watching birds, playing board games, watching and playing basketball, and reading good and bad books.
