I use all the tools I teach my students and love drawing connections between distance topics to the students interests. I love using interactive methods that include drawings, figures and even body movement as it changes what the students are used to and engages them. I like sharing tips for checking work and mentoring for advancing your career forward. I think a holistic approach is necessary for long term success.

Success Story:

My favorite success story is of a university student that I was tutoring for linear algebra. She was struggling with the math and physics topics and was thinking about dropping out of her Physics program. I worked with her on those topics but also encouraged her about the progress she’s made and built up her confidence. She not only graduated with her Bachelor’s degrees in physics, but also just finished her PhD in Physics. I continue to act as a career mentor as she transitions into industry as a data scientist and is still a close friend of mine.

Hobbies & Interests:

I like working out and playing sports, particularly basketball. I like playing video games. Overwatch and Civilization are my favorite games but I recently got into Fortnite. I like reading and learning about history and all sorts of topics. I also make Youtube videos for fun particularly related to science/engineering while having fun.
