I am a certified science teacher with over 17 years of classroom experience teaching general science, physics, chemistry, Earth science, and environmental science to high school students. I have a bachelor's degree from Western Oregon University and a Master's degree from the University of Nevada - Reno. I tutor grades 6-12.
I'm an enthusiastic science teacher, absolutely passionate about both science itself and sharing that passion with my students. I tailor my teaching style to each student's needs, working at their pace to ensure success. Whether that means slowing down and patiently explaining concepts, or jumping ahead to challenge them, I'm here to support their learning journey. We'll solidify understanding by reviewing topics together until they truly grasp and, ultimately, achieve them.
My favorite success story is when I helped one of my high school physics students pass not only physics, but all of his classes. He was struggling with high school in general, and we met twice a week. By the end of the year, he was passing all his classes and earned a B+ in my class! He was able to graduate on time and go on to become a classic car expert.
When I'm not tutoring, I really enjoy spending time with my three cats and my dog. I also love to cook, and I enjoy trying new recipes from around the world! I like to listen to podcasts & audiobooks, especially true crime, Gothic horror, and general knowledge.
