I completed a fully-funded MFA program in creative writing at Western Kentucky University, where I tutored and taught Introduction to College Writing. I live in West Virginia, where I enjoy hiking with my German Shorthaired Pointer.
I care about clear thinking and creative expression. I try to help students develop their insights into their most communicable form, and I believe reading and writing are essential tools for living.
One of the students in my Introduction to College Writing course had a brain tumor as a boy, and he still suffered from some cognitive side effects after his surgeries. Every day I would set time aside to help him gather his thoughts for the homework writing assignments. At the end of the semester, he told me he'd never forget the difference I'd made in his education.
I enjoy hiking, racquetball and, pickleball. I write fiction and love reading, listening to music, and watching movies.
