I am an empathetic veteran tutor with almost two decades of in-person and virtual experience. I have a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology & Microbiology from the University of Central Florida and tutor Pre-K through College.
I am most passionate about empowering my students with the tools, habits and resources needed for them to succeed - not only in all subjects but in areas of life. My ultimate goal has always been to train students to become resourceful and take control of their own education. While I serve as a guide to get them to self-directed status, my students eventually become so astute that they no longer need ongoing tutoring.
One of my best success stories came with a high school student that I helped excel in Math. When I met him, he struggled to engage due certain circumstances out of his control. He consistently forgot topics he had just reviewed and previously demonstrated understanding. Overtime, with patience and consistency he started to to become more open and engaged with the sessions. He started to work independently and complete his assignments without continuous prompting. He started retaining the information and ultimately exited the class with an A. He truly got to a point where he no longer needed constant supplemental help because he began to trust his own ability to understand, integrate and retain lessons.
I love spending time in nature and traveling. If I had it my way that's probably what I'd be doing most of the time. I also love viewing, being and making art. I model, create pottery, paint, and all sorts of other miscellaneous inspirations.
