About Me

I am a certified math teacher and professional tutor with over 15 years of experience. Whether in the classroom or through personalized tutoring sessions, my goal is to help every student understand the "why" behind math concepts, regardless of their starting point or motivation level. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master's degree from Brown University.

Tutoring Style

My first step is always to get to know the student, which helps me understand their thinking style and tailor my approach accordingly. With over 15 years of experience, I adjust my explanations to align with each student's unique perspective. I encourage students to express their thoughts and work with them to build a deeper understanding of the material. I aim to make learning visual by being animated in my explanations.

Success Story

I've always been the teacher students come to for extra help during lunch, whether they're my students or not. Word got out that I was willing to help anyone, and that's how I met a student struggling with geometry. She couldn't understand her teacher's explanations, but I got to know her through tutoring in geometry, algebra 2, and pre-calculus. When she graduated this year, she told me she wouldn't have gotten through her classes without my help; I made it all make sense for her.

Hobbies & Interests

I love to learn and consider it my hobby. Recently, I've been making connections between various cultures and the math they discovered, matching them with their geographic locations. I also enjoy environmentalism and learning how we can integrate sustainable practices into our future.
