I am passionate about learning, teaching, and developing. My tutoring experience started in middle school when my friends asked for my help whenever we had an exam. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from the University of California at San Diego and I tutor grades 1-College.
The reason I love tutoring is that I am able to help students with subjects I am passionate about by showing them different perspectives and angles toward a certain problem so they can fully understand it before applying the solution to it. My tutoring style is adaptable based on the student's most efficient learning technique; however, I enjoy showing graphical evidence and in depth proofs whenever students are interested.
One of my favorite success stories is when I worked with a student for 3 months on a linear algebra class. Not only was he able to perform much better at the end of the quarter and feel more confident, but he was able to go from hating math to accepting it. It was his last quarter before graduation, and on the last day I tutored him, he said "I cannot believe you were able to make me like math in my last quarter in college after having despised it for my entire 4 years of education."
My number one passion is traveling! I love discovering new countries, cultures, and lifestyles. My favorite city is Paris, and my most recent trip was Copenhagen, which I found to be mesmerizing. Some of the countries I still want to visit are Japan, South Africa, Russia, and Brazil.
During my free time, I like to read novels, historical fiction, as well as psychological books. Moreover, I love Latin dancing, which I have been practicing for 3 years, swimming, and I enjoy playing tennis with friends.
