About Me

I am a passionate teacher with more than 16 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I am a certified teacher K-12 and have a master's degree in curriculum development and instruction. I taught elementary school grade levels 3-6 grades, middle school grades 7-8, high schoolers, and adults. I am currently a middle school English teacher in a public school.

Tutoring Style

I love learning different languages. Teaching and helping students are my passion. I am patient and supportive. I am a flexible, relaxed, understanding, but strict teacher. I can adapt my teaching style, strategies, and methods to meet my students' needs and different learning styles.

Success Story

I had a very smart and capable student who was unmotivated and lazy. He didn't like school and studying, and all he wanted to do was sleep, play, and hang out with friends. His self-esteem was low and he lacked self-confidence. My mission was to motivate him, get him to study, and help him to have strong self-confidence. I was very patient with him, talked to him all the time about his goals and interests, communicated with his parents every week, and shared with him my experiences and own stories. I believed in him and his abilities. I made learning a fun experience by listening to him, valuing his opinions and feelings, and encouraging him to improve himself. I stayed with him after school twice a week for months to get him to catch up and learn. When he started seeing his grades getting better, he became more motivated and enthusiastic. He wanted to challenge himself and see where his intelligence could take him. He worked harder and was able to raise his grades from F and D to A. He passed all his classes in 8th grade and made it to high school. He is in 11th grade now and still doing very well. He still visits me at my school every year.

Hobbies & Interests

I like to socialize and meet new people. I love traveling and learning about new cultures and countries. I like cooking, swimming, music, nature, and reading. I enjoy watching soccer and basketball games.
