I am an experienced teacher and tutor with 5 years of experience in the classroom and many more tutoring. I specialize in ELA and Mathematics for Elementary and Middle schoolers. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and tutor Kindergarten to 10th grade.

Tutoring Style

As a tutor, I try to assess where my students are and then figure out what they need to reach the next level. My primary focus is ensuring the student understands why we do what we do much more than how. I do this with a friendly, "Let's try this and see what happens" attitude that my students love. Mistakes are always opportunities to grow.

Success Story

‍
I recently had a 5th grader who was struggling in reading and Math. The family had told me had a test coming up in 4 days and needed a lot of help to be ready for it. I worked with that student every night and as I was explaining why we do it this way, it clicked, and he sailed through the practice problems. He aced his test.

Hobbies & Interests

I am a world traveler and busy father to my two children, Zager Lee and Fairyn 6 and 3 respectively. I enjoy seeing new places and learning about new cultures. When I am not traveling I am experimenting in the kitchen, playing games, or watching football (both kinds).
