I have transformed students into scholars for more than ten years. My experience as a friend and mentor to my students has helped me better understand their needs. I have a master’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M University and I tutor grades 3-College.
My philosophy is a connect, serve, grow, and go linkage; that is to help you connect with your academic tasks and school teacher's methodologies, then you tenaciously build the required discipline to maintain that connection, which I call the service phase. Over time, you probably wouldn't require my service any longer because you would have grown to work independently. The last phase would be for you to go out there and disseminate the knowledge and skills that we have worked together to acquire.
My first ever student was an 8th grade student who had difficulty with basic multiplication (5x2 specifically). Her parents had given up on her ability to grow and succeed. I decided to work with her family everyday, sometimes for free, because I saw a hidden talent untapped. A year later, her math grade went from 20 to 79. She graduated with a 3.4 GPA and ironically tutors math when moonlighting after her day job.
