I am primarily a mathematics tutor with 6 years of tutoring experience in an online and in-person format. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and I tutor grades kindergarten-college.
As a teacher, I encourage students and try to nurture their enthusiasm in the subject. I primarily teach through Socratic questioning and traditional means, though I will adapt to a student's needs to ensure their benefit. I try to further their understanding of a given topic by just going over the edge and slightly introducing application or a related technique.
One of my favorite students as a tutor involves one of my peers actually. We were both in Geometry at the time, but he was struggling with proofs and the logic behind them. After he told me, we took an afternoon to go over a set of examples to make sure he stayed on pace. He struggled to understand at first, so I made sure to slow down and repeat the critical points and examples. He aced the next quiz on the topic and complimented my teaching style.
When I am not tutoring, I enjoy playing video games, cooking and learning recipes, going to the gym, choreographing, and watching shows and movies. I have an interest in dance and music as well.
