About Me

I am a lifelong educator with a PhD in Educational Psychology. I have taught every age group from elementary to graduate students. I primarily tutor undergraduate and grad students in math such as calculus and statistics.

Tutoring Style

I am passionate about helping students learn. I think it is important for the tutor and student to have a set of shared, agreed-upon goals and to check in on these goals every few weeks.

Success Story

I am proud of the time I helped a high school principal with her dissertation proposal. They had a questionnaire ready but needed support with the statistical test involved. I elicited details about the sample sizes until we had agreed on which statistical test and why.

Hobbies & Interests

When not tutoring, I go on family walks with my wife, daughter, and dog. I like to play video games, particularly roguelike RPGs such as FTL and Slay the Spire. I also read, primarily philosophy and social science, and I serve as Game Master for various tabletop roleplaying games, including Dungeon World, Root, Masks, MÖRK BORG & CY_BORG.
