I am a certified teacher with more than seven years of experience teaching secondary science. I have a bachelor's degree in environmental science from New York University and a master's degree in science education. I tutor grades K-12.
I am a warm and spirited teacher, who is deeply passionate about science education. I believe students can use their strengths to improve on their weaknesses. I adapt my teaching style depending on the needs of my student and give them access to the material by connecting to meaningful phenomena for them.
I helped my student in her Chemistry course in high school. When she came to me, she was failing the course, and did not understand how taking chemistry was going to impact her life. We met in the first semester, and I connected everything she was learning phenomena that was important to her. We also spent time learning the content through important scientific skills and practices, which gave her the confidence she could become a scientist. She is now graduating with an Environmental Chemistry bachelor's degree.
I love to read a wide range of books (fiction and nonfiction). I am really into fitness, I like to run, dance, yoga, pilates, and weight training. I am a lover of scuba diving and spending time in the ocean.
