I am a Professor of Physics and Astronomy. I have taught (in college classrooms) and tutored in a 1-to-1 setting, a wide variety of STEM subjects over my career of about 18 years. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and PhD in Physics. I teach Math,Physics, Astronomy, Engineering and test prep to students in grades 6-College.
I am an enthusiastic teacher, passionate about teaching Physics, Math and testing strategies. I adapt my teaching style to the needs of my student, going slow and repeating myself if needed or jumping to the level where the student is and raising their level then. Students always make remarks about my kindness and non-judgmental attitude in teaching. I make subjects come alive by relating them to the real world and showing their importance in our lives. I love teaching and relish the aha moment when the light bulb goes on in the student's head, and they learn something new or gain insight.
Two friends who wanted to become engineers were both failing their freshmen year Math classes and were fearful that they might not be able to fulfil their dream of becoming engineers. They came to me and I taught them Math and Physics. They passed both those subjects with flying colors and went on to become Mechanical Engineers. One of them further got a Masters in Aerospace Engineering and now works for FAA.
