About Me

I am a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Pure & Applied Mathematics and a double master's in Applied Mathematics & Data Science. I have 8 years of experience as an Academic Tutor in both high school and undergraduate-level mathematics courses. In addition, I have 3 years of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus, with certification in "Teaching at the College Level" and I am in the process of earning certification for teaching at the high school level. I am also currently entering my second year as a teacher at the Art Harper Saturday Academy, teaching advanced Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus to high school students interested in STEM careers.

Tutoring Style

I am a passionate tutor and teacher, and I always try to the best of my ability to make sure my students leave my sessions with more knowledge than they had before I met them. I understand that mathematics can be a very challenging subject for students, and not every student always grasps concepts and steps of problems the same exact way. I will always look to see what specific problems give my students the most difficulties and adapt my tutoring to meet their needs and improve their skills.

Success Story

One great story I always remember is when I was working at the walk-in tutoring center at my university, and one undergraduate student came up to me looking for assistance in Linear Algebra. This student became very close with me and thought I was a very helpful tutor, and he would eventually plan his schedule to meet with me throughout the entire rest of the semester on a weekly basis. At the beginning of the semester, he was struggling in Linear Algebra, but thanks to my help, he would wind up receiving an A in the course at the end of the semester. This student really liked working with me so much that he actually came back to the walk-in tutoring center again the following semester a year later to ask me for more tutoring help in Statistics, and I continued to meet with him again weekly.

Hobbies & Interests

When I am not tutoring, I enjoy watching sports; I am a huge football and baseball fan.
