I am a retired mathematics teacher with more than 30 years of experience in classrooms teaching math to 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students.
I am a passionate, enthusiastic, and patient teacher whose teaching style is student-centered. I utilize several methods of solving a problem and let the student choose which method he or she likes to maintain.
One of my success stories is when I had a student in 8th grade who was terrified of the math subject and she thought she could never be good at math. I set up a tutoring schedule with her and started working with her an hour before class and an hour after school. I first dealt with the gap she had between her 7th-grade curriculum and the 8th-grade curriculum. After we covered that gap we embarked on her 8th-grade curriculum and by the time the semester ended she was in the top five percent of her class. She went on to major in Mechanical Engineering in college.
I like to play tennis, pickleball, and Ping-Pong in my spare time. I was a former professional soccer player; hence, I love watching soccer matches and movies on TV. I like to travel for vacations.
