About Me

I am a former high school English teacher(9-12 and AP English) with over five years of teaching and tutoring experience. I hold my bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tampa, and I tutor grades 6-12.

Tutoring Style

I adapt my teaching style to the specific needs of each student by first understanding the student's level of comprehension and building from there. I pride myself in being able to explain concepts in ways that students can understand and adjusting those explanations based on the individual student's needs. I am incredibly passionate about ELA and English Studies, and I always work with empathy and patience in mind.

Success Story

One of my favorite tutoring success stories comes from my time spent in the classroom. I had a student struggling with structuring their writing and bringing ideas from their mind to the paper. We met every other day during our school's study hall period to work through different writing exercises and techniques, and by the end of the fall semester the student had earned an A in my course and their confidence had grown ten-fold.
