Abigail

I am a certified teacher with more than a decade of experience in classrooms teaching math, humanities, and English as a second language to students of all ages. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and I tutor grades 3-College.

My tutoring style:

I am an enthusiastic teacher, passionate about the topics I teach. I adapt my teaching style to the needs of my student, going slow and repeating myself if needed or jumping to meet their level. I enforce the topics we learn together by reviewing them until the student passes with flying colors.

Success story:

One of my favorite success stories is when I helped a  university student not only pass but do exceedingly well in her Chemistry 101 class. She came to me half way through the semester struggling severely in her class, we met 3 times a week for the rest of the semester and she was able to raise her grade from a D+ to an A-! She went on to graduate as a Nurse and is currently finishing her Nurse Practitioner degree.

Hobbies and interests:

I am bilingual (English and Mexican Spanish), I  love animals, I danced ballet and jazz, I was a high school cheerleader, I absolutely love traveling, I have lived in Germany, Italy, and Mexico. I am originally from Florida but moved to New Mexico, USA when I was young.
