I'd had the privilege of tutoring numerous students from when I started my associates at Horry County Technical College, through obtaining my bachelor's at Coastal Carolina University, and up to taking graduate classes at the University Of Virginia. I have nearly a decade of total experience in tutoring Calculus and Algebra to college 1–4 students.
I have a clear, palpable passion for tutoring mathematics. I am known for being extraordinarily accommodating and specific to how a student learns best, whether it is: visual, example-based, scaffolding upon concepts already known to the student, or even trying something out of the box. To put it succinctly, my tutoring style is dependent on the particular student I am working with.
A success story I am most proud of started during my first semester of college through fourth semester. A student met with me struggling with Pre-Algebra, and I was happy to assist. He had a unique way of learning, and I viewed it as not only a rewarding opportunity to expand my repertoire in tutoring style but also as a way to help someone passionate about their success. We worked together and met regularly for 4 semesters (through Pre-Algebra up to Calculus), with his proclivity to succeed and my dedication to help, he graduated with the highest honors. I always hope to replicate this supreme experience in all long-term commitments with my students.
I have a large numbers of hobbies outside of mathematics. I play the piano and my favorite modern composer is Isaac Shepard. My favorite video games are team-based FPSs (Overwatch, Valorant, etc.) and RTSs (League of Legends, Age of Empires). I love disc golf, darts, pool (billiards), and ping pong. I also enjoy weightlifting and going for runs.
