I have more than a decade of classroom experience teaching and tutoring mathematics, economics, and a variety of other subjects. I have a master's degree in economics from CU Boulder and I tutor grades 6-College.
I love learning new things and helping other people do the same. I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs and abilities of my students. We can be methodical and ask lots of questions to gain a deeper understanding of the topic, or we can focus on completing an assignment efficiently. I'm approachable and encourage curiosity. Come as you are, and we will set goals and meet them together.
I had a student, Elizabeth, who was starting her senior year of high school and in danger of not graduating. We met 3x per week and worked on Algebra (independent study/retaking), Geometry, and Chemistry together. Having someone to talk through her struggles with really helped her regain confidence in her own abilities, and she even joined the Journalism Club that year! She got an A and two B's in our classes, and made it into college where she's studying to be a librarian.
I like to laugh as much as possible. I walk/hike/run with my dogs regularly. I play D&D with my friends. I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and some TV; I'm currently reading the Discworld series.
