About Me

I have been a professional math tutor for over 10 years. I have worked with multiple high school and college access programs to support students struggling in STEM as both a tutor and a program coordinator. I have both a master's and a bachelor's in Manufacturing Engineering from Robert Morris University and I tutor grades 7-12.

Tutoring Style

I consider myself a laid-back tutor who is all about listening to the needs of my students. I seek to understand the difficulties a student has and meet them at their level. I love learning about students' interests and incorporating them into our lessons to help make math more approachable and fun. Every student is capable of learning when they have the right support.

Success Story

I had a student who had a fear of math and text anxiety. We started working together during her sophomore year in high school. At first, she would come to our meetings hoping to prepare to retake tests that she had failed and was also struggling to catch up on the current material. We spent our time trying to balance the old and new in hopes she wouldn't keep getting behind. It took a few months for us to get caught up but we eventually did and grades were improving. At the beginning of her junior year, we saw a whole new confidence that wasn't there before. She was bringing me challenging questions after trying them on her own, and she only needed to clarify small details. By the middle of that school year, she only needed to check in occasionally as she was consistently doing well on her tests. She wrote to me later that year thanking me for helping her see herself as someone that could be great at math. She just needed a little push.
