About Me

I graduated from West Virginia University with my Master's degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 5 years and have been tutoring for 6 years. I am a certified teacher who has had experience teaching all subject areas grades K-5 and has tutored various elementary grade levels.

Tutoring Style

I absolutely love teaching, tutoring, and watching students grow in their learning to succeed. I am all about making learning fun and engaging- because life is too short not to have fun! Establishing positive relationships with my students is crucial, and I am a firm believer in sustaining rapport! When it comes to instructing, I meet students where they are in regard to their specific needs and prerequisite skills/knowledge. I strive to ensure students fully understand each concept being taught. My goal is to make a positive impact on students and help them achieve success!

Success Story

One of my favorite success stories is when I worked with a group of fourth-grade students to help them pass their state standardized reading test. These students were struggling with concepts related to state standards as well as test-taking skills/strategies. I met with them almost every day and provided small group instruction that focused on the reading standards. We were all thrilled that these students did so well on their state test at the end of the school year!

Hobbies & Interests

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, reading, attending sporting events, snow skiing, and playing with my dog!
